Biblioteca Demonstrativa Maria da Conceição Moreira Salles

Brazil

Created in 1969, The Demonstrative Library has the mission to be a reference to other libraries in the country. That means that beyond being a center of information to the population, it also has to deliver expertise on library services to other libraries, functioning as a laboratory to test new ideas.

In addition to lending books, the Library is one of the most important reading rooms in the city and a cultural space that houses courses, visual and photographic exhibitions, musical performances, registration of written works, comic bookstore, children’s wing, free classes of school reinforcement and other activities directed to the local community.
