The University and State Library of Bonn (ULB Bonn) is the central university and archive library of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. The University and State Library is divided into a main library in Adenauerallee (Südstadt, World Icon) as well as a departmental library for the fields of medicine, natural sciences and agriculture in Friedrich-Hirzebruch-Allee (Poppelsdorf, World Icon). Taken together, the collection amounts to over two million volumes of books and journals.  Furthermore, numerous institute libraries of various sizes are assigned to the ULB. Part of the main library’s holdings have been relocated to an alternative stacks in Castell.
