The Nationale Library “Vittorio Emanuele III” in Naples is a state public library of the Italian Ministry of Culture.
It is the third largest library in Italy , with a collection of approximately 19,000 manuscripts, 4,563 incunabula, 1,792 Herculaneum papyrus, approximately 1,800,000 printed volumes and over 8,300 periodical titles.
It is located in th East branch of the Naples Royal Palace. The rooms are richly decorated in XIX-century Neoclassical style, with gold and white stucco. On the second floor the private apartments of the Bourbon Royal family are decorated in Neo-Pompeian style after the discovery of Herculaneum and Pompeii in the second half of the XVIII century.
