The KB was founded in 1798. In 2023, it celebrated its 225th anniversary. As the National Library of the Netherlands, the KB preserves the printed Dutch heritage and increasingly more digital publications. In the storage facilities, more than 120 kilometers of books, newspapers, and magazines are stored.
