Sebastijan Pregelj, born in Ljubljana in 1970, studied history at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. He has published eight novels, including A Chronicle of Forgetting (Kronika pozabljanja, 2014), which was longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award, and In Elvis’s Room (V Elvisovi sobi, 2019), which won Slovenia’s Cankar Award and was shortlisted for the Kresnik Award for Best Novel. He is also the author of one of the country’s most successful series of children’s books, Stories from the End of the Stone Age (Zgodbe s konca kamene dobe, 2016–2021). Pregelj lives and works in Ljubljana.
