Sam De Santo is a born and raised New Yorker. Growing up in the days before the advent of the internet, his tool of choice was a cassette tape recorder held up to the TV speaker to hastily record his favorite shows and movies when they happened to be on. His love of storytelling drew him to the film program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he received his BA in Cinema Studies and his Master’s in Film Production.
He has had a long career writing and producing promotional TV spots for numerous channels in a wide variety of genres including “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” for Food Network, “Meerkat Manor” for Animal Planet and “Monk” for USA Network. He has also been the lead storyboard artist for multiple independent feature films, music videos and commercials.
His love of adventure stories, WW2 history and classic Disney animation have blended together to inspire the story and illustrations for his first novel, “Bumble Humblestone and The Secret Cargo”.
