Michael Kandel is an author, editor, and translator. He received a Ph.D in Slavistics from Indiana University and is noted for his translation of the works of Stanislaw Lem—two of which were National Book Award nominees—Andrezej Stasiuk, Marek Huberath, and Pawel Huelle. He has served as an editor at the Modern Language Association for over 20 years.
