Espoo City Library

Finland

Libraries are meeting places and cultural centres, open to everyone. They offer newspapers, magazines, books, music, films and other materials that you can enjoy at the library or borrow and take home with you. Libraries have spaces where you can study, take part in recreational activities or just spend some time. Libraries also provide information and guidance services and arrange events and exhibitions.

The Espoo City Library cooperates with the neighbouring municipalities (Helsinki, Kauniainen and Vantaa), and together they form the Helmet Library. You can borrow materials from all the libraries of these municipalities. The collections of Helmet library also include digital material.

The national online services of libraries at Kirjastot.fi and the National Library’s Finna.fi service are available to everyone. Through your local library, you can also borrow materials from the Multilingual Library and the Celia Library. Celia produces and distributes literature in accessible formats.
