ABOUT
THE BOOK

Three storylines run through The Secret: the story of Wanda Wierickhe, the story of her past and the story of Bouw, the man she left. Wanda, a concert pianist, sees music as a way of escaping reality. It is her answer to questions about her place in the world. So important is it, that when forced to choose, she leaves her husband for it. But then she learns of a secret from her dying mother which cripples her life. Resolution is only possible when she comes to an understanding of her family’s past.
