The Road to Shenzhen
ABOUT
THE BOOK
In the early 1990s Zhou Haonan, a young man from the West Canton Province of China, moves to Shenzhen to advance his career. A dutiful, kind, brotherly and painstaking man and a devoted son to his aged mother, he works as an international businessman and a Sanda boxer, and even sells his blood over the 20 years he spends working to achieve his dream. Though he has many failures and setbacks, he always finds the strength to get back onto his feet and carry on. The story examines family relationships, love and friendship as well as humanitarian and commercial matters. An inspiring and touching novel.
The Road to Shenzhen is one of very few novels ever to be written in English by a Chinese author who has lived all his life in China.
