ABOUT
THE BOOK

Ray, a young artist, is haunted by the memory of his mother, Molly, in her dazzling golden dress, and the tragedy of her story. He guards his past from his lover, Martine. When Ray disappears mysteriously on the streets of Paris, Martine embarks on a search for him, desperately seeking to understand him. Thread by thread the secrets, stories and intrigue of his family unravel. From the bestselling author of Lovers’ Knots comes this compelling novel that sweeps from Australia’s seascapes to the streets of Paris and Sydney, across three generations.
