NOMINATING LIBRARY COMMENTS

Satu Rämö’s first fiction book is a captivating crime novel set in a remote village in Iceland. Main characters, local police woman Hildur and Finnish police trainee and avid knitter of Icelandic pullovers Jacob, form an interesting partnership in solving crimes where past mysteries slowly begin to unravel. Icelandic nature is very strongly present in the story. This book in its original language took Finland by storm and it and its sequals have been hugely popular in Finland. (Helsinki City Library)
