ABOUT
THE BOOK

The story begins in Uganda precisely on Friday the 4th August 1972 when Idi Amin announced his decision to expel all Asians from his country. It then traces the fortunes of a refugee family in their country of adoption, England, and on to the holy precincts of Mecca and the mysteries of the Hajj, mixing recent history and vivid imagination.
