ABOUT
THE BOOK

Mister Sandman introduces the bizarre world of the Canarys, a family quite unlike any other. Little Joan is tiny, exquisite, mute, lives in a closet and plays the piano like Mozart. Her sister Mary is solely interested in sex, while Sonya is enormous and knits compulsively. At the outset of the novel the parents seems quite normal, but through the offices of Little Joan we realise that all is not quite what it seems
