Photographer Andre Kelly is sent to the South of France by editor Camilla Jameson Porter to take glamorous photographs of the houses and treasures of the rich and famous. He happens to have his camera ready when he notices a Cézanne being loaded into a plumber’s truck near the home of an absent collector. In no time he’s on the trail of a state-of-the-art art scam, chasing Cézanne. During the chase Andre meets up with a beautiful agent, a super-savvy art dealer with expensive tastes, a master Dutch forger, several greedy New York socialites, and in the background, a parade of remarkable chefs whose culinary masterpieces soothe the hero and tantalise the reader.
