ABOUT
THE BOOK

The narrator of Abyssinian Chronicles is Mugezi, a wise, quick-witted interpreter of his life and times. Through him we witness the everyday richness, wildness and humour of Ugandan life, and meet an impressive cast of friends, family and other characters. But this tale also has a darker side, for Mugezi’s life-story cannot be separated from the despotism and tragedy of Idi Amin’s reign and its chaotic aftermath.
