Mira Stout is a Korean-American novelist and freelance journalist known for her internationally acclaimed debut novel, One Thousand Chestnut Trees.
She attended Brown University and is currently based in London, England. Her first novel, One Thousand Chestnut Trees, published in 1997, received significant recognition, including a nomination for the IMPAC award and being the first runner-up for the Shiva Naipaul Award. Her second novel, Moon Trees, is also mentioned as being soon to be published. She has also written Ingres: An Accidental Biography in Thirteen Portraits.
