Ruchir Joshi is the author of The Last Jet-Engine Laugh, a novel, and Poriborton!, a book about the 2011 state elections in West Bengal. He has been a columnist for The Telegraph, The Hindu, The Economic Times and other newspapers, and has contributed to Granta, India Magazine, Man’s World, Seminar, E-Flux, Wittede Witt Review, The Indian Quarterly, etc. He has also directed documentaries and essay films, including the award-winning Tales from Planet Kolkata.
