ABOUT
THE BOOK

Duncan Murdosson knows little of the Great Crusade until his uncle, Torf-Einar, suddenly reappears with news that the holy cross of the cruxifixion, the Black Rood, has been discovered, and is in the possession of the Knights Templar. Accompanied by his trusted friend, the monk Padraig, Duncan sets off on a dangerous quest for the holy relic, determined to gain the Black Rood and return it to Scotland. The two soon become drawn into the dark intrigues of the Templars, leading them to volatile lands where a major clash of powers and religions will shape the world for centuries to come.
