ABOUT
THE BOOK

King Bimbisara’s Chronicler presents the world of India at the time of the Buddha. We see the Buddha through the character of the Chronicler, who is assigned to memorise the Buddha’s words for his King. In hearing the Buddha’s teaching, he wavers between belief and distrust, holding up a mirror for us to see the conflicts within. Then thirty years later, he is employed by King Ajatasattu, who took the throne from his father, King Bimbisara. This places the Chronicler in the midst of palace intrigue, the outcome of which determines his fate.
