Italy

The San Giorgio Library is the public library of the municipality of Pistoia and the leader of the Pistoia Library Network, as well as one of the largest public libraries in Tuscany. It was inaugurated on April 23, 2007 in the presence of Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo. The library contains a valuable collection of contemporary artists including Die Grosse Fracht by the German artist Anselm Kiefer. The imposing canvas made with a mixed technique of acrylic and cast lead dominates the Department Hall on the first floor of the library.
