Melanie Finn was born and raised in Kenya and the United States. She is the author of four novels including The Gloaming, a New York Times Notable Book in 2016, and hugely anticipated literary thriller, The Hare. Her work in a remote area of Tanzania as the writer and producer of DisneyNature’s flamingo epic, The Crimson Wing, led her to found Natron Healthcare, a small NGO focused on bringing health education and sustainable health service to under-resourced rural communities in eastern Africa. She lives with her husband, twin daughters and a wide range of domesitc and wild animals on the side of a mountain in northern Vermont.
